We bought a little wading pool for William, in preparation for our trip to California in a couple of weeks. We will be swimming alot there, so we wanted him to get used to it. For many reasons, William hasn't had as much exposure to the water as this California girl would like. Anyway, when we first put William in the water he just screamed! Passing neighbors must have thought we were torturing him.

Slowly, but surely he warmed up to the idea of being in the pool. He began to splash and play with his toys. And we even got some smiles out of him!

By the end of his swimming session he was having a ball and even going down the slide by himself. I will have to take some better pictures of the slide. That is definitely his favorite part.

Now, if you ever need to find me in the afternoon just come to my backyard. William and I will be kicking it in our little swimming pool.

William's new favorite song is "Popcorn Popping on the Apricot Tree." He raises his hands above his head and starts to do the actions. That's our cue to start singing. To be honest, I am not sure where he picked it up. It must have been nursery, but he has only gone twice. Hmmmm . . . they must sing it alot in those two hours. Whatever the case, he loves it when we sing it. When I "make a treat, a popcorn ball that will smell so sweet" he pretends to eat it out of my hand and then, of course, he throws those hands in the air ready for the final phrase, "popcorn popping on the apricot tree!"

We found out last week that our second little one is going to be a girl. I'm not going to lie, I am absolutley ecstatic. I am so excited to be having a girl. My little princess. Yay!

And I thought I was well traveled .... time to start planning our next trip.
