36 weeks, well, 35 weeks and 5 days, but who's counting?

I thought I would take another belly pic because the thing has totally popped out recently. I can't say I feel huge, this is nothing compared to how I looked and felt with William, but I am definitely getting anxious for this little bundle of joy to arrive. Mostly I am just really, really, really excited and also nervous, but who wouldn't be?

And here's another cute picture. We tell William to kiss Marie and he will come up and kiss my belly. I hope that that doesn't confuse him when Marie is no longer in my belly. Oh well, I am sure he won't go to college thinking that my belly is called Marie. Anyway, here's to the next 4 weeks!

I'm a big kid now!

On Monday night William made the big move, from nursery to big boy room! The room is still slightly under construction, the walls are a blank slate and the closet still has office stuff in it, but we moved the computer out and took the twin bed off the frame (it already had all of William's bedding on it) which made it ready enough for William to move in.

William was thrilled the first night. He was all smiles, hence the picture, and couldn't get enough of this exciting change in his life. He fell asleep quickly and looked so comfortable lying there! Brandon and I, on the other hand, after putting William to bed, went into the now empty nursery and cried a few tears over our baby growing up. I think we both would have been even worse off if we didn't have the arrival of our new little princess to look forward to in 5 weeks. Knowing that room would soon be filled again was comforting indeed.

I was somewhat surprised by my emotions. Why I am ever surprised by emotions anymore, is beyond me, since I am such a baby, nonetheless, I was surprised. I have been anticipating this move for weeks now. First, I knew it was necessary to make room for the baby and second, I was able to put my love for decorating to work once again. I spent hours searching websites trying to decide what color scheme I wanted to do in the room and getting ready to make it perfect for my little boy. As I made each purchase I couldn't wait to see it in the room. I moved William's clothes to his new dresser three weeks ago, right after we bought it. I am excited for this new stage in my little family's life!

But Monday night, when my little baby boy graduated from the nursery to the big boy room, I was a mess. My tears have dried since then and I have gone back to being excited, but now, 2 days later, the roles have reversed. William is a mess! He slept horribly on Tuesday night and semi-horribly on Wednesday night, waking up in the middle of the night crying and banging on his door. Nothing we could do could console him, so we had to just let him cry-it-out. Both Tuesday and Wednesday his naps were next to nothing, and when he would fall asleep it was on the floor by his door. The novelty has worn off and he is wondering why on earth Mommy and Daddy keep putting him to bed in the wrong room. Today may be a break-through day, however. The only reason I am able to write this blog at all is because William is working on hour number three of his nap, in his big boy room, not on the floor by the door! We will see what tonight brings . . .

We're going to the zoo, zoo, zoo . . .

On Labor Day we decided to have a little family outing to the Hogle Zoo in Salt Lake City. William loves animals and calls all of the "goggy" or "nooooooh" (doggy or cow). So, be it a dog, cat, horse, or even a bug, in William's world it is one of two things, a doggy or a cow. When we first got to the zoo he did exactly what I expected, calling all the animals we saw "goggy" or "noooh." After about an hour, though, I think he began to figure out that they were different and just waited patiently for us to stop the stroller and point out whatever there was to see at the exhibit. William's favorites were the meerkats and the marmosets. Both are little animals that like to run around a lot. William just giggled and giggled as he watched them. After 4 hours of walking around William fell asleep in his stroller and Mommy really wanted to get off her feet so we headed home, but it was a great day! We are thinking that next summer we will get a season pass.

William was in a posing mood because it was the beginning of the day. Isn't this a great picture?!

And then, in the afternoon, not long before he fell asleep, he is wiggly and silly. And no, we are not the exhibit. We are standing next to a monkey exhibit, but our little monkey would not cooperate for us to get a picture with him AND them.

These are the only lions we could find at the zoo, the drinking fountains. Oh well, William had more fun with them then he would have seeing real lions.

He loves drinking fountains.
