Presents from Grandparents

Grandma and Grandpa Struthers dropped off their presents for the kids at the party. We've learned from past years, that it works better for the kiddos to open those presents at home, rather than packing them to California. So, the following Sunday we opened them up. So exciting for the kids!
I had to document our use of technology. It is such a blessing to bridge the gap between the miles that separate us from our families. New clothes and a dump truck for Sam.
Gift card to Lowes, hence the very happy smile.
Cupcake baking Barbie and black boots for Anne.
LEGO friends cupcake shoppe and black boots for Marie.
Transformer and LEGO Indiana Jones DVD for William.

Happy Birthday to our Favorite Brandon!

Birthday time was low key this year. We had a, now traditional, dinner of lasagna, and mint chocolate cake with mint chocolate ice cream for dessert.

Our favorite lasagna to make is a varied version of Mel's Classic Italian Lasagna. I like to use a mixture of ground beef and Italian sausage as the meat and I don't typically make my own sauce, although it is fantastic. The mint chocolate cake is also a varied version of one of Mel's recipes. I used mint chocolate chips in the recipe and put crushed grasshopper cookies and mint whipped cream on top. Delicious.

It was a special dinner for an even more special man that is the center of our universe. Happy Birthday to Brandon!
