Some People Wait a Lifetime

for a moment like this…

…and I totally mean that in the “oh-my-gosh-my-kids-are-way-too busy-and-getting-into-everything-will-they-please-just-give-me-a-moment-of peace” kind of way.

"Hey, Cow[girl], nice shiner!" (Name that movie)

KONICA MINOLTA DIGITAL CAMERA Minutes after …KONICA MINOLTA DIGITAL CAMERA Hours after …

… Marie attempted some acrobatics on the chairs in nursery. She’s smiling here, but let’s just say that I knew she wasn’t too happy when I could hear her screaming halfway across the church right after it happened.

I can’t say I was really surprised at all. The girl is a daredevil and a klutz. Bad combination. Very bad combination.

Happy Birthday, Dr. Seuss

I think his official birthday was Monday. We’ve been reading his books all week.

William requested, repeatedly, to have green eggs and ham after we read the book to him about 5 times (again, his request) on Tuesday.

Wednesday morning I conceded (it didn’t take much convincing), but I didn’t have ham. I compromised. So, they had, in William’s words, “Green eggs, no ham, green wogurt, and green bana bed.”

The banana bread wasn’t actually green, just the butter on top.

Both kids devoured every last bite.

Maybe I should start putting green dye in everything I make.

Why Today is Wonderful

1) I have the windows open. It will snow later this week. I am enjoying the 60 degree weather while it lasts.

2) I received my ModMum sling in the mail today. I have been considering buying or making something like this for a while. The reason? Marie still loves to be held more than my arms like to hold her. I hadn’t committed to one yet because it isn’t a priority financially right now. Winning it in a giveaway solved that dilemma! Plus, when the time comes for baby #3 in, like, 10 years, (haha) I am sure it will come in handy! Thanks Thrifty & Chic Mom.

See You There!

Alright, chicas. If you live in my ward you for sure need to come to the Relief Society Enrichment activity tonight. I just barely found out the details and can’t wait. Of course, I am pretty much a big nerd and love any and all social gatherings.

***************THE DETAILS***************

Relief Society Birthday Enrichment Meeting

Tonight! March 3rd

6:30pm-8:00pm.

Please come enjoy cake and ice cream with us as we share our ward sisters' favorite things.

Each sister may bring an item that represents one of her favorite things or something about her.  For example: a favorite recipe, something that helps you relax, a favorite treat, a product from your favorite hobby, etc.  After each lady shares her favorite thing, she will pick another sister out of a drawing that will win the item she brought.

Nursery provided.

Church dress (but please come even if you don't want to wear a dress).

Since this was kind of short notice, it would help if everyone could please invite someone that might not have gotten the word, a neighbor, Visiting Teaching sister or companion etc... This should be lots of fun.  Hope to see you there!

**********************************************************

See, I am doing my part. I am inviting YOU!

I’ll share a secret with you. Sewing is the favorite thing that I will be sharing and this lovely apron is the item I will be bringing. PICT8489_edited-1See you there!

To Love You More

A little over a year ago I briefly 022mentioned to Brandon that I didn’t think I would ever see Celine Dion in concert because she was closing her show in Vegas. At the time I didn’t know she was coming to Salt Lake. He did. He bought tickets for my birthday. He loves me.

*sigh*

I can’t really tell you when I grew to love Celine Dion. I suppose it dates back to my freshmen PICT8641_edited-1 year at college when my roommates and I choreographed a lip sync to “It’s All Coming Back To Me Now” complete with slamming doors , leaps across the room, and dancing on the couches.

Or perhaps it’s the lyrics to “Because You Loved Me” and the fact that in the cheesiest kind of way that song always makes me think of my parents.

Or it could be the memories of belting “Tell Him” with whomever was willing to duet with me, usually in my car with the volume full blast. We did spare those around us and kept the windows up.

I can tell you that it is not because of “My Heart Will Go On.” As a matter of fact, I was thrilled that we made it through the entire concert without hearing it and then sorely disappointed when she busted it out as her final encore. 031

Whatever the case. I love Celine Dion and that was reiterated last weekend at her concert. No one can deny that she is a fantastic entertainer, especially not me. I was thoroughly entertained.

And seeing her was a dream come true.

Thanks, Honey!
