William

I thought I would dedicate this post to my adorable son. He is growing up so quickly. I caught some pictures of him this past week that tell a lot about his personality. Enjoy!

Becky, I know you will really appreciate this. Every night, after William has been asleep for an hour or two, Brandon and I go in his room and tuck him in. It is fun to see what precarious positions he manages to get himself into in the process of falling asleep. The other night I went in and found him like this. I couldn't help myself, I had to take a picture. For those of you who don't have a toddler boy that is obsessed with the movie Cars, William is lying on his Lightning McQueen pillow. And if you look very closely, up by his right hand you will see a little toy car next to him. This boy loves cars! William now insists that he has his car pillow when he goes to bed, and more often than not, falls asleep on it.

I was trying to take a picture of William in his cute outfit, but he would have nothing to do with that, he just wanted to draw. I bought this MagnaDoodle at WalMart for 88 cents. What a bargain. William can be entertained for at least 10 minutes on this thing. He especially loves it when Brandon will draw him pictures on it. Brandon draws something and William guesses what it is. William loves that game.

After about thirty pictures, not even kidding, I finally got William to look at the camera. It was worth the effort though. He is just so cute! We just got him new shoes and I think he looks so grown up in them, probably because his old shoes were 2 1/2 sizes to small. I was shocked to find out that his feet had grown that much. Please don't judge me! It's a good thing I took a picture because about an hour later he got an upset stomach and puked all over this adorable outfit. Thankfully I had taken the shoes off!

On Saturday evening Brandon and I were cleaning up after dinner and we noticed that we hadn't heard much from William. So I peaked in his room to find him like this. He loves to look at picture books and will often go in his room to do just that. But usually he will sit on the floor by his bed. This was the first time I have seen him climb up on the window seat. With our cameras "super zoom" I managed to sneak a picture without interrupting his quiet time. We love it when he is in these moods, as opposed to the "jump on the couch and run around the living room while making a lot of noise" moods.

More comparisons . . .

Maybe this isn't as intriguing to anybody else, but I just can't help myself! I come from a family that we liked to call "the mismatched socks of heaven." We don't look like we are siblings, we are all so different looking, so we decided that after "the Good Guy Upstairs" matched up all the families we were the remains and he threw us all together. So, that being said, look at my kids! They actually look like siblings! Don't be fooled, the two pictures above are not both of Marie. The top one is Marie and the bottom one is William.

Think Happy Thoughts . . .

. . . and what is happier than William and Marie dressed up as Peter Pan and Tinkerbell?

More Marie

Life with a new baby in the house has been wonderful. Marie is so mellow and content. She is such a good baby. She has even had a couple of 8 hour stretches at night, already! Of course, I'm sure that I have now jinxed myself and won't get a decent nights rest for weeks . Oh well, I will enjoy it while it lasts!
William is still getting used to this new life of his. For the first week he was completely taken with his baby sister. He loved to kiss her and hug her and got concerned when she would cry. This week he is experimenting with how much he can get away with. He shakes her bassinet, hits her, drives his cars on her, pushes her swing; you name it, he has tried it. I think he is wondering why she hasn't gone away yet. It is weird to think that as he gets older he won't even remember life without Marie because it sure has thrown him for a loop!

Grandma P. and Aunt Becky picked this outfit and blanket out for Marie. So precious.

And here is our angel modeling one of mom's great buys. This dress was on sale for $9, originally $30. So, not only does she look dang cute, but she is already learning the art of bargain shopping. Gotta start 'em young, right? :)

Why didn't I think of that?

Ever since I found out I was having a girl I have been looking forward to putting cute little headbands on her. Being the frugal person that I am (wink, wink), I wanted to figure out how to make them myself, rather than pay the overpriced cost at boutiques and such. So I did some searching online and found some instructions for cute bows, but I couldn't figure out what everybody used for the headband part. Well, you can imagine my excitement when I found out that our Relief Society was including headbands as one of the crafts at Super Saturday. So, to make a long story short, guess what they use . . . knee highs. OK, is that not ingenious? Again I ask, why didn't I think of that?

These are the three headbands I made today. I didn't actually go to Super Saturday, considering the fact that I had a baby a week ago. Instead I went and got my supplies from the church and hosted my own little Super Saturday in the comforts of my own home, between baby feedings and naps. The smaller one is a knee high folded in half.

And here is our little princess modeling her newest wardrobe accessory. Isn't it just adorable?

This one, I think she will have to grow into a bit. Brandon and I got a good laugh when I tried it on.

Brother and Sister

One of my many thoughts after Marie was born was how much she looked like William. She is smaller than he was, but here are a couple of pictures to compare. The first pictures is obviously Marie and the second is of William. Can you believe the similarities? Something tells me they are related.
